Following months of speculation, the battle royale game type for Battlefield 6 is officially launching. Recent speculation claiming its release would happen alongside Season 1 were spot-on. Players can access the mode starting very soon.

Season 1 Introducing a New Map, Game Type, and Weapons

Alongside the BR release, the first season is also kicking off. This brings a new map, a new mode, and an expanded arsenal. Additionally, the Redacted Sector is making its debut. A included preview will become available at go-live, offering gamers a taste of what's to come.

Complimentary Access Allows Battle Royale Available to Any Player

Maybe the biggest news is that the battle royale mode will be free-to-play. Similar to popular titles, you won't require to buy the base game to join in. Several participants have earlier tested pre-release builds of the game type. These playtests were held in a testing environment, which the developers described as their largest community collaboration initiative.

The heart-pounding excitement during encounters with opposing teams is unique in different battle royale. It's like do or die, and you really mind if you die or survive.

Although I was a skeptic earlier, I'm now for the battle royale since trying it.

Such initial feedback from players have been extremely encouraging. Of course, the gameplay may have been adjusted over the past couple of months in terms of game balance and speed. Still, initial indicators are positive that Redsec could become a genuine alternative to popular games. Many are hoping that the top weapons from the base title will carry over in the BR.
