Week 10 again delivered, with a huge upset for the Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' saying that draws so many people into the NFL
This outcome may have opened things up for the New England Patriots to creep back into a leading position they formerly held, with a schedule that gives them an edge over their eight and two rivals
Meanwhile in the NFC the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had perfect results to set up a monster clash next week, while our player of the week is chasing records as well as the Most Valuable Player award
Analysis - Simply an Off Day for the Bills?
Was it just an emotional comedown from defeating Kansas City the previous week or something more? This remains the question for the Bills to answer
The Buffalo squad had won seven in a consecutive games against the Dolphins but were outperformed from the beginning as the Miami team ran out 30-13 winners in an surprising outcome - and performance
MVP Josh Allen only achieved the team's initial first down in the third period and first points in the fourth - admittedly Miami had 10 days to get ready but it was still a massive egg laid by one of the NFL's best offenses
Dolphins quarterback Tua threw two scores but rusher De'Von Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 combined yards and two scores
Containing the league's best rushing attack was also key, with Cook and company registering just 86 yards, their lowest of the year and slightly more than fifty percent their 161.5-yard average
Then there were the three crucial ball losses, and the two from Josh Allen specifically. An interception in the end zone meaning a nine minute drive produced nothing, and his final quarter fumble that Miami turned into seven points just later
It was typical 'old Buffalo' as they shot themselves in the foot, falling into a deficit on defensive side and Allen trying to do too much to dig his team from the situation - rather than the composed, controlled, well-balanced Buffalo team we've witnessed this season
The Dolphins have served up a bit of everything this season so the jury's out on if this is the beginning of something, but for the Bills they'll require an instant response in a difficult matchup against the Buccaneers next week as the New England are sneaking into a nice lead at the top of the American Football Conference East
In Focus - New England Identify Route to Unexpected First Place
Speaking of the New England, they're one of three eight and two squads in the league, all AFC sides, but could they be the top team?
One could pick holes in the Patriots, Denver and the Colts really for dominating the lesser sides, with just five of their total 24 wins achieved against opponents with a positive record - and one example was the Colts defeating the Denver
The Broncos beat the champion Eagles in Philly and are masters of the fourth-quarter while Indianapolis can ride Taylor, but the New England adding Sunday's win in Tampa Bay to their prime time success in Orchard Park seems like a declaration
Their two defeats occurred in new head coach Vrabel's first three contests, with seven consecutive victories, similar to Denver, since then - but taking down Baker Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a week off to prepare was huge
Drake Maye's MVP claims won't go away, and he definitely deserves credit for bravery after taking some savage hits in Tampa Bay but hanging in there to steer his side to victory
The defense is solid and rookie rusher TreVeyon Henderson burst onto the scene on Sunday with 147 rushing yards and two exhilerating scores of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - becoming just the fifth different ball carrier to exceed 22 miles per hour this year on his initial touchdown
While you can debate who 'the best' is technically, the Patriots should be favorites to end with the top record due to their remaining opponents - which features just one game against a winning team, albeit a huge one against the Bills
Traveling to the Ravens is also tough, but Denver have it even tougher in the AFC West division with the Kansas City to face two times, the Los Angeles Chargers (who could also compete for top seed but encounter the same problem) and additionally the Packers on the fixture list
The Indianapolis also face the Chiefs, and have the Seahawks, San Francisco and two games with the five and four Jacksonville to contend with. There's a long way to go but the opportunity is open for a surprise number one position in the AFC
Coming Up - Rams & Seahawks Set for Next Week Showdown
Both squads with solid claims to be superior to all of the three different 8-2 sides are NFC West opponents the Seattle and Los Angeles, who each put up forty points to go to 7-2 before the upcoming major game between the pair in Los Angeles
Both have secured four victories in a consecutive games, have quarterbacks in Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold playing at an high standard (although Darnold had turnover issues on Sunday) with top receivers, and defenses allowing under 20 points a game
Both could easily be without a loss as too - particularly the Los Angeles as their two defeats came in overtime against the San Francisco and then that painful defeat in Philly when they had a potentially winning field goal with the final play blocked and returned by the Philadelphia for a touchdown
Seattle also lost to the 49ers, with a late touchdown in the opening week, before losing to the last kick of the game against the Buccaneers - so they're genuinely among the top teams in the NFL
The next matchup on Sunday could be the best of the season so far
Player of the Week - Taylor
Taylor could be on for a record season after his incredible display in Germany - rushing for 244 yards, scoring three touchdowns and adding an additional 42 {receiving yards
