Weapon-carrying attackers have killed a teacher and abducted at least 25 students in an raid targeting a girls' secondary school in Nigeria's northwestern region, authorities have confirmed.
The armed faction invaded the public educational institution for female students in the Maga locality within Kebbi State at around 4 AM local time on the start of the week, officials stated.
The assailants "engaged police personnel on duty in a shootout" before climbing over the boundary wall and taking the pupils captive from their living quarters, an official report indicated.
