Devoted fans of Ariana Grande are demanding that a individual who jumped a barricade and touched the actress during yesterday's Wicked: For Good launch be detained or deported from Singapore.

A widely shared clip reveals the Australian man bypassing camera operators and lunging at Grande while the actors walked down a event pathway accompanied by onlookers.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo promptly pulled the stunned actress away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being removed of the premiere by security officers.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "free after being detained", though legal records indicated that he was due to appear on the following morning. It is not clear if he was charged.

History of Event Invasions

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has invaded a celebrity gathering. His Instagram account contains recordings of him interrupting other high-profile occasions, including rushing the platform at the pop singer's Sydney show in recently and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers concert in the area last year.

"Steps should be implemented enforced against him as this is clearly a criminal offence," stated an Instagram follower, in a response to a video Mr Wen posted of his behavior.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" a different Instagram user remarked.

Followers Express Concern Over Ariana's Safety

Many fans criticized Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had spoken of dealing with trauma-related anxiety after a devastating incident at the end of her 2017 concert in Manchester, killing 22 people and harming many.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" said another message on Instagram.

A number of supporters also criticised guards at the gathering for not being sufficiently alert; while others called for online networks to ban Mr Wen's content.

Reaction and Event Details

In footage shared widely, Grande seemed surprised when she was grabbed by the man. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted comforting her while Mr Wen was escorted away by staff.

Grande has not commented on the event, and the rest of the event continued without further issues.

Many of fans had congregated in a crowd of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific launch in a Singapore mall, including some who had stood in line for as long as many hours before it commenced.

The movie, to be launched on November 21, is the sequel of a two-part version of the well-known Broadway and West End production Wicked, which centers on the unlikely friendship between two very different characters.

The musical itself is a adaptation of the twentieth-century children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the character Glinda Glinda, was decked out in a rosé glittering gown at the gathering while Erivo, who acts as the villainous character, wore a sleek black dress featuring roses.

They were alongside fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the top-earning film of 2024 in the UK, and scored ten Oscar nominations, securing several for outstanding attire and set decoration.
