Iran Claims Attack on American Facility in Bahrain, During Regional Military Operations.
Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone close to the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any damage is uncertain and the American officials has yet to issue a statement.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to US military bases - reported they have intercepted missiles in their airspace.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted locations associated with the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump urging the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the UAE announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses responded to the projectiles with notable success and shot down a series of missiles," the statement continued.
It said debris landed in a neighborhood in the capital, causing some material damage and the death of one civilian.
The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
