Performer Denies Anti-Vax Views Following Narrating Controversial Covid Feature
The acclaimed actor has provided his voice to a new documentary that questions the safety of vaccinations and praises ex- government figure RFK Jr.
The Feature's Disputed Foundation
Named "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is based on a bestselling book co-authored by a disgraced researcher, who rose to infamy during the global outbreak for claims that the virus was linked to a bad strain of the flu vaccine.
The publication's writing partner, Kent Heckenlively, has previously authored books with conspiracy-prone media personality the Infowars host. Heckenlively took to social media praising Neeson's involvement in the documentary.
A Strong Rebuttal
Representatives for Neeson have issued a response strongly denying implications that he subscribes to anti-vaccine sentiments.
"Everyone can recognize that misconduct may occur within the medical sector, but that cannot be conflated with being against vaccines," the response reads. "He never has been, and is not, against vaccines. His extensive work with Unicef underscores his enduring support for global immunisation initiatives."
The response continued that the performer did not shape the project's messaging and that inquiries about its content ought to go to the filmmakers.
Central Assertions In the Documentary
In the film, the voiceover spoken by Neeson makes several controversial statements:
- It states that pro-vaccine voices have called for "unconditional submission" to public institutions.
- It argues that "science has become highly influenced by politics."
- Kennedy is shown claiming, "The major issue with vaccines is that they are not adequately tested."
- The film also criticizes stay-at-home orders, arguing they caused mental anguish that cost thousands of lives.
- Regarding pandemic shots, it references a report that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "hazardous tests."
Past Background and Ongoing Issues
The film further cites a past television report about HIV drug testing on children, which was afterwards the topic of a BBC apology by the broadcaster for unbalanced reporting.
Recently, RFK Jr directed the national health agency to change its official position that there is no causal relationship between immunizations and autism. This supposed link is echoed in the film, despite a new report from the WHO stating no such link has been found.
A Previous Position of Support
Standing in contrast to the documentary's message, Neeson has in the past shown firm endorsement for vaccines in his position as a charity ambassador.
Two years ago, he called vaccines as "a remarkable triumph," stating that "The debate about vaccines in recent years has lost sight of how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in history."
The film finishes with Neeson's script saying, "This is not the end of our journey. Rather, it is the dawn of a new chapter."
