Previous British Broadcasting Corporation Specialists Participate in Parliamentary Grilling After Claims of Partiality in Disclosed Memorandum
We open with queries from Conservative MP the committee chair, who chairs the committee.
She opens by providing background to the leaked document authored by Michael Prescott and printed in the Telegraph.
"It is not my wish for the BBC tilting toward one side or the other, I simply desire it straight, fair and just," he states.
In response to a query whether he thinks the British Broadcasting Corporation is structurally prejudiced, Prescott replies: "No I don't. To be clear, tons of stuff the British Broadcasting Corporation produces is top-tier - encompassing informative and non-factual programming."
But he adds: "There remains real work that requires attention at the BBC."
A further ex-adviser British Broadcasting Corporation specialist questioned by the committee, Caroline Daniel, remarks she regards the BBC with great importance and that it operates a "ongoing system and vigorous discourse" across fluid and multifaceted topics.
"Was the BBC willing to engage in a thorough discussion and exchange and take action?" she reflects. "In my view, indeed, they were."
