Slot Asserts He Feels Safe and Has The Club's Support Following PSV Defeat

Arne Slot admitted that it's understandable for questions to be raised about his future following a further heavy loss against PSV Eindhoven.

The Reds suffered their 9th loss in 12 games, representing the club's worst streak after being relegated in the 1953-54 season.

They were dominated by the Dutch league champions on a difficult night at Anfield.

“I am feeling safe, I'm fine, I have got a lot of backing from above,” the coach remarked.

“It would be nice to turn it around and earn three points naturally but when you're working as a coach and struggling then it's expected that questions are asked.”

He continued, “I am OK with my position. It is not the initial instance I've found myself in a challenging situation but it's crucial that we changed our fortunes.”

Conversations with Club Management

Upon being questioned to elaborate on his discussions with the club's leadership, the head coach revealed:

“We communicate frequently. They are helpful to the team and for me and those talks happen but they aren't calling me every single minute of the day to say they back me.”

He added, “In the normal conversations we have I feel the belief. But I've not talked to them since this game yet so we'll see.”

Recurring Problems and Player Response

The manager expressed regret over recurring shortcomings from his team in their European defeat, specifically wasted chances and leaking goals.

Meanwhile, midfielder Jones was blunter in his assessment of the current crisis.

“I don’t have the solutions. Honestly, I don’t. I'm telling that to everyone,” Jones remarked.

“It’s just not good enough. I don't have to wait to think about it. I’m past getting mad inside. I’m at the point currently where I simply lack the vocabulary.”

He continued, “It's difficult because I play for the club I love. I'm a supporter, and I've watched this club for years.”

“For many years, I haven’t experienced a Reds side experiencing a period such as this with results like these.”

He concluded, “However we continue to wear the emblem on our shirts. And until that badge is gone, we'll continue to compete.”

“We’re going to try to bring this squad return to the top, show everyone once more what Liverpool stands for and why it's known as the greatest side in the world.”

“However currently, we’re in the shit and it needs to change.”
