Ukrainian Forces Begins Mass Production of New Defensive Unmanned Aerial Vehicles

Ukraine has announced the start of mass production for a new domestically developed defensive UAV to reinforce its air defences. Three initial producers have begun production, with an additional eleven preparing to establish production lines, the defence ministry stated this past Friday.

'Octopus' Technology Tested in Combat Situations

These UAVs will be based on a nationally created system known as “Octopus” engineered to neutralize Shahed drones. The system underwent testing in combat and proved effective “during nighttime, under jamming and at low altitudes,” officials confirmed. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set an ambitious goal of producing as many as 1,000 defensive drones daily.

Latest Attack on the Capital Characterized as Deliberate

The Ukrainian president described Moscow's most recent assault against Ukraine as “intentional, calculated and wicked” following six people lost their lives and dozens injured in a series of night-time strikes throughout Kyiv. Air raid sirens activated in Kyiv just after 12 AM this past Friday, with enemy UAVs quickly heard overhead and intensive defensive fire from Ukraine's aerial protection units.

The number two energy company Lukoil said this past Friday it is negotiating with potential buyers concerning its international holdings following last month’s restrictions from the UK and the US and the collapse of an agreement with commodity trader Gunvor. “The specific deal will be announced after conclusive negotiations are completed and required authorizations have been obtained,” Lukoil stated.

Zelenskyy Plans Diplomatic Trip to Spanish Capital

The Ukrainian leader is scheduled to travel to the city of Madrid, the Spanish capital, next Tuesday to confer with parliament members following his visit to Paris, Spanish parliamentary officials disclosed. The Ukrainian president would meet deputies from both chambers of parliament throughout his stay, an official announcement said.
